Liz's Teaser Tuesday

Daemon had written: "What do you do when she asks a question no man would give a child an answer to?"

Saetan had replied: "Hope you're obliging enough to answer it for me. However, if you're backed into a corner, refer her to me. I've become accustomed to being shocked."

Debby's Tuesday Teaser

Six inches of snow fell the last week of school before Christmas break. Doris had learned over the years that there was no point in expecting her students to concentrate on anything when the holidays loomed tantalizingly near. As red- and green-frosted cupcakes were passed out, Doris asked the students to stand and each read their story of their favorite Christmas memory.

Cecilia's Tuesday Teaser

Dill stopped and let Jem go ahead.  When Jem put his foot on the bottom step, the step squeaked.  He stood still, then tried his weight by degrees.  The step was silent.  Jem skipped two steps, put his foot on the porch, heaved himself to it. and teetered a long moment.  He regained his balance and dropped to his knees.  He crawled to the window, raised his head and looked in.

Then I saw the shadow.  It was the shadow of a man with a hat on.  at first I thought it was a tree, but there was no wind blowing, and tree-trunks never walked.  The back porch was bathed in moonlight, and the shadow, crisp as toast, moved across the porch toward Jem.

Dill saw it next.  He put his hands to his face.  When it crossed Jem, Jem saw it.  He put his arms over his head and went rigid.

The shadow stopped about a foot beyond Jem. Its arm came out from its side, dropped, and was still.  Then it turned and moved  back across Jem, walked along the porch and off the side of the house, returning as it had come.

Jem leaped off the porch and galloped toward us.  He flung open the gate, danced Dill and me through, and shooed us between two rows of swishing collards.  Halfway through the collards I tripped; as I tripped the roar of a shotgun shattered the neighborhood.

I don't know the real page as this is on my reader pg 54.

Our New Read

Our newest read is The Host by Stephenie Meyer. Here is a little teaser summary of what it is about.

A species of altruistic parasites have peacefully assumed control of the minds and bodies of most humans, curing cancer, eliminating war and turning Earth into paradise. But some people want Earth back, warts and all, especially the feisty Melanie Stryder, who refuses to surrender her mind to the alien soul called Wanderer. Overwhelmed by Melanie's memories of fellow resistor Jared, Wanderer yields to her body's longing and sets off into the desert to find him.

It is a really good story with the the first love-triangle involving just two bodies. I enjoyed it and hope you all will too. I can't wait to bury my nose in it again. Just a reminder as well, we won't be meeting to discuss this book until Jan. 18th so you have a while to read it. Enjoy!

A Little Changeroo

Okay, so I think instead of doing Teaser Tuesday on the first Tuesday of every month we should just do it whatever Tuesday we feel like. That way we can have something new floating around on different weeks. So, feel free to post whenever and however many times you wish.
